Funk Jam

Celebrate the roots of club culture and the raw expression of the street dance scene with performances from dance group, The Locksmiths. Expert selectors on the decks will spin everything from breaks and hip-hop, to disco, house and modern funk, all at The Brewhouse, in London Fields.

The Black Madonna

£7/20. 9pm-4am, Friday, 7 April

XOYO in Shoreditch welcomes The Black Madonna, digging deep into her extensive vinyl collection every Friday. The DJ opens her 13-week residency with ‘The Body Electric’, taking you on a trip to early electro, industrial and techno to chronicle the evolution of synthesizer music.

Alter Ego Auditions

Free. 10am-6pm, Saturday, 8 April

This is an opportunity for Hackney's young people to showcase their skills by entering the Alter Ego talent competition to win a chance to perform alongside headline acts and be mentored by industry professionals. Book an audition at Hackney Empire and show them what you are made of.

Dave Gorman’s Screen Guild

Comedian Dave Gorman gets set to hit Hoxton Hall with new material in preparation for the next series of his TV show, ‘Modern Life Is Goodish’. Dave’s picking the guests himself, so the show promises to deliver only the finest and smartest acts the circuit has to offer.

Cute Creature Eggs

£25. 11am-12.30pm, Sunday, 9 April

A fun, creative and messy Easter-themed workshop for kids to make their own cute creature eggs decorated with googly eyes, icing, sprinkles and more at The Hoxton, in Shoreditch. Equipment and decorations provided.

Cake and Chill

£20. 1.30-4.30pm, Sunday, 9 April

Enjoy all-you-can-eat cake alongside a live DJ and complimentary glasses of prosecco at The Loft, Total Refreshment Centre, in Stoke Newington. If you are a baker wanting to showcase your skills, there are a limited number of discounted tickets (£7) available for those willing to bring cakes along with them.
