Distinkt Sounds Vol. 3

Bar 512, Dalston, takes on the festive season with a knees up featuring sets by DJ B-Side, DJ Chords of RAM Records and many more spinning the hottest in drum n bass, house, ghetto funk, UK garage and reggae.


Sofrito London Winter Dance

£10/MOTD. 11pm-6am, Friday, 2 December

Joining the Sofrito DJ collective family behind the decks with an unseasonably sunny selection will be John Gomez and surprise guests, with MC Kwasi for the vibe at Bloc, Hackney Wick. Expect tropical rhythms, rum punch and dancing till dawn.


Well Street Market Relaunch

Free.11am-5pm, Saturday, 3 December

The grand re-opening of Well Street Market will see live music from DJ Norman Jay MBE (pictured below), children’s activities, market stalls and a visit from Father Christmas himself. Traders will be selling a mix of street food and fresh produce, as well as beautiful goods from local designers and makers.

Thebes Land

How could anyone kill their own father? One of the rarest and most shocking crimes is interrogated in this daring new play staged inside an enormous steel cage, at Arcola Theatre, Dalston. Thebes Land (video top) is a darkly funny, electrifying tale about retribution and justice, love and masculinity.


Independent Ceramics Market

Over 60 potters and stallholders will be offering their wares at this Christmas market. Shop from a range of original items by a new wave of independent ceramicists and potters, all at Epic Dalston.


Disco Loco Under the Sea

Grab the munchkins and head to Hackney Showrooms for a wild and wonderful family party featuring music, special guest comedian Jayde Adams, a flipper dance competition, merfolk glitter mayhem, snacks and plenty of family fun.
