Pop Up Screens: Cinema in the Snow

£20/10 for under 10s. Various times, Friday, 16 – Sunday, 18 December

Step into Hackney Showroom for a wintry wonderland cinema experience with delicious hot drinks and scrumptious festive food. This weekend’s screenings include 'Love Actually' and 'Muppets Christmas Carol'.


80s Xmas Special with Jonny Woo and Diane Chorley

£15/20. 8-10pm, Friday, 16 & Saturday, 17 December

Jonny Woo joins Diane Chorley and Rudi Douglas to bring the spirit of Xmas alive with a very special 80s sing-a-long. Jayde Adams gets set to channel pop megastar Adele, while Lavinia Co-Op will tell an assortment of Christmas cracker jokes. Following the show, at The Glory, Dalston, the party continues with DJs throughout the night.


Milk & Biscuits: Creative Christmas Pop-up Shop

Free. 10am-7pm, Friday, 16 & Saturday, 17 December

The award-winning kids wear brand is back with another fab pop-up shop selling unique apparel for boys and girls (images below), and a free creative art workshop (2-4pm, on Saturday) for kids at The Hackney Shop, Morning Lane.

 

 

Chats Palace Christmas Makers Market

£1 donation entry free. 3-9pm, Saturday, 17 December

Get up-close-and-personal with East London’s most exciting artisan businesses, selling handmade traditional craft pieces at Chats Palace. Expect to see ceramics, handmade and hand-printed clothing and jewellery for sale at the Christmas Market.


Fever 105’s Winter Wonderland

£20/25. 10pm-6am, Saturday, 17 December

One of the world's finest Soul and Disco bands, Odyssey, headline with a full live band performance at Oval Space to celebrate the last weekend before Christmas. Also, long-standing veteran of the disco scene, Danny Krivit will be spinning a rare three-hour set of disco records and more.


Christmas Market in Cazenove Road

Free entry. 12noon-4pm, Sunday, 18 December

Stoke Newington kitchen and bar, The Lacy Nook hold the final of their three-week Christmas market run featuring a bbq, festive stalls and children's activities. Buy your last minute Christmas gifts and decorations and don't forget to grab a couple of German sausages in a bun with a warm glass of mulled wine.


Alternative Carols

Free entry. 6-9pm, Sunday, 18 December

Experience carols like never before performed by guest artists at St John-at-Hackney Church. There will be chances to sing along to, as well as listen to, guests deliver unique versions of Christmas songs. Donations will be taken on the night, with all proceeds going to support work with the homeless in Hackney. After Party and open bar will follow the event.
