What's on in Hackney this weekend: 14-16 October

Despite the chill in the air, the fun keeps on rolling with an indoor music fest, fashion fair and garage night in Hackney this weekend

DJ Pied Piper & MC DT

Old skool UKG favourite DJ Pied Piper (above) headlines a night of garage alongside MC DT, bringing over two decades of tunes to Birthdays, in Dalston.


Dalston Street Show Exhibition

Free. 6.30pm, Friday, 14 - Sunday, 16 October

One of the biggest exhibitions to feature in this year’s Photomonth festival is The Dalston Street Show. Opening this weekend in Dalston Square, the show will exhibit images demonstrating the diversity of the area, its people, street life and built environment, accompanied with music from the band Off the Wall.


Black History Season: Treasure Hunt and Board Games

Free. 1-4.30pm, Saturday, 15 October

A stay and play afternoon session for children with a Black History Season-themed treasure hunt with board games, word searches and mystery prizes to be won, all at Hackney Central Library.


The Fashion Walk-in

£5.50.9pm-1am, Saturday, 15 October

Grab something unique at a fashion fair run by young designers, showcasing their products at Farley Macallan in Morning Lane, one minute away from the new fashion outlet village, Hackney Walk. Expect 'not on the high street' designs, music, canapes and a glass of prosecco.


Hackney Wonderland

Expanding to a two-day event this year, indoor festival Hackney Wonderland will be taking over five of the boroughs favourite venues, hosting their share of indie stars and up-and-coming bands including The Mystery Jets and Lucy Rose.


East London Big Push

£5/free for kids. 10.30am, Sunday, 16 October

Walk, run, or scoot in the East London Big Push and help in the fight against postnatal depression. People of all ages and abilities can join in the 5km race around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
