Celebrate London's creativity and diversity with music and arts events this weekend in Hackney

Making a Difference

1-5pm, Friday, 11 & Saturday, 12 November

Cause2Create are calling all creative and digital industries to combine their creativity and passion to develop solutions to raise awareness of the refugee crisis. The weekender includes a day of workshops and speakers, as well as arts, music and dining events at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

This Alabama-born artist gets set for a two-day residency at Café Oto, Dalston, bringing a mesmerising mixture of soul, jazz, lo-fi hip-hop and folk. Think Arthur Russell meets Sun Ra.


EFG London Jazz Festival

The EFG London Jazz Festival (video above) takes over venues across the capital. Hackney highlights this weekend include celebrating the work of composer Gil Evans at Rich Mix, Shoreditch, on Friday; a live performance by singer Nell Bryden at Shoreditch Town Hall, on Saturday; and late-night jams at Vortex Jazz Club, Dalston, on Sunday. 


Fall (Autumn) With Her

Spread over the multi-storey renovated spaces of Mick’s Garage, Hackney Wick, will be a night featuring the hottest DJs, live acts, food shacks, UV lights and body paint for an epic lesbiananza.


The Popcorn Party

The weekly Love Shoreditch party brings the best in RnB, chart, house and club classics to Far Rockaway, in Shoreditch, mixed by resident DJ Cutty. Not forgetting free popcorn for everyone. Entry price (before 10pm) includes a free glass of prosecco.

Patterns of London

Scott Palmer of Project London records and guests showcase the city's musical diversity ranging from UK garage, breaks, house and techno at Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes, Shoreditch. All the DJs involved have many years of record-collecting under their belt and work to create a vibe for people to come together, network, dance and enjoy themselves.
