What's on in Hackney this New Year's Eve

It's sayonara to 2016, so get dolled up for a night to remember at one of Hackney's top NYE parties

WHETHER it's been a good year or a bad one, say goodbye to 2016 with a bang – from a 1920s themed casino party, to seeing in 2017's first sunrise accompanied with euphoric house, or a psychadelic mini-festival, to a punk disco night out – we've got you #COVERED!

Glorious New Years Eve at The Glory

Free. 5pm-late, Saturday, 31 December

Hosting and screaming in the New Year, The Glory hosts Baby Lame, Mzz Kimberly, Ma Butcher and Jonny Woo for a nutbag 80s / 90s old skool party dance and sing-a-long. DJ Farah spices up downstairs with some Disco for those who want to dance dance dance. And best of all, it's FREE.

New Year’s Eve at The Great Gatsby Casino

£25/40/75. 5pm-2am, Saturday, 31 December

Throw on a flapper dress or dandy suit, pick up a glass of bubbly and ring in 2017 in 1920s style at The Stoke Newington Tea House. Expert dealers and croupiers will be on hand for guests to try their luck at blackjack or roulette. Fabulous prizes are up for grabs for the highest roller of the night and the best dressed.

The Full Circle NYE Party

£35. 6pm-6am, Saturday, 31 December

As we wave goodbye to 2016, join Cargo, Shoreditch, with a New Year's Eve event playing all your favourite music across three rooms of house, R&B and party anthems, plus a  live performance from a special guest UK chart topping act.

NYE Afro Disco with Alexander Nut

£15/20. 8pm-3am, Saturday, 31 December

Prepare for all things tropical as you descend into the depths of The Book Club’s jungle all set to a soundtrack of the best afro-disco around with headliner Alexander Nut (pictured below) taking you through the midnight hour. Downstairs The Book Club brings its unique brand of reggae, garage, hip-hop, house and disco to Shoreditch.

NYE with Psychemagik & Bill Brewster

£25. 8pm-3.30am, Saturday, 31 December

The final release of tickets are running low for this New Year's Eve mini-festival at Hackney Wick. Mick’s Garage hosts music producers Psychemagik with Flamingo Pier DJs in support. Look out for the forest disco dancefloor, psychedelic projections and a Moroccan inspired chill out den in the loft upstairs. The venue also joins The Brewshed with DJ legend Bill Brewster playing an extended set. 

Café Oto NYE Party

£18/20. From 8pm, Saturday, 31 December

DJ Mica Levi (of Mica and the Shapes) plays a special NYE set plus a live performance from one of Café Oto’s favourite acts of the year, Yeah You!

The Cave Club

£10 adv. From 8pm-4am, Saturday, 31 December

A flamboyant dress code is encouraged for this punk disco night out at the Moth Club. Party-goers will dance to Bowie, Buzzcocks, Throbbing Gristle, X Ray Spex, Talking Heads and more.

NYE Beyonce Party

Club night Flawless have New Year's Eve jam-packed with DJs playing Beyonce hits (obvs) and other artists including Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, Rihanna and Bruno Mars at The Macbeth of Hoxton.

RUN NYE with TwoSixtySix

£10/15. 9pm-4am, Saturday, 31 December

TwoSixtySix music collective takes over Hackney House to round-up 2016 and see you into the new year in style. DJs will be playing the best in hip-hop, bass, underground and UKG with plenty of classics in the mix, plus live MCs and singers throughout the evening.

Locomotive Disco

£12/15. 9pm-4am, Saturday, 31 December

It’s a house, disco, funk & boogie affair at Oslo (pictured above) as they bring one of their favourite guest DJs of the year for their New Year's Eve party. Prizes will be given for the best fancy dress outfits: London tube stations theme.

New Year's Eve Meat

£10/15 otd. 9pm-5am, Saturday, 31 December

Join DJ collective The Meat Boys as they take over Dalston Superstore to round off the year blasting a mix of pop, disco, house, 80s & 90s classics and hip-hop. They’ll be joined by some of their favourite DJs including Panos Z and Nic Fisher over two floors plus surprise guests.

New Years Eve with DJ Koze + Peggy Gou + more

£40/50. 9pm-5am, Saturday, 31 December

Set to make it XOYO’s most memorable New Years' Eve party to date, they welcome dance music legend DJ Koze. He'll be joined behind the decks by fellow Pampa Records artists, Lawrence & Die Vögel, with a special guest performance from dance/electronic artist Peggy Gou.

Gin & Juice: NYE Special

£20/25/35/40. 9pm-5am, Saturday, 31 December

After nearly six years or throwing parties up and down the UK, Gin & Juice debut their first NYE party and intend on going big at Mangle, London Fields. Think P Diddy’s (video above) and mansion parties from the MTV music videos. Resident DJs will be dropping the greatest hip-hop and urban music from the past 40 years. VIP tickets available.

'Lets go back to the real old skool'. No upfront drum & bass, no garage, no remixes of classics, just old skool vibes from 1988 to 1993 house/acid house at Bloc, Hackney Wick, with some of the world's most revered rave DJs – including Slipmatt, Ratpack and Altern-8 – seeing in 2017.

Oval Space x Percolate

Oval Space and party people Percolate, bring in 2017 with a double-venue party across Oval Space and The Pickle Factory, featuring a line-up of the year’s brightest DJ-ing talents: revered electronic musician Floating Points (midnight set), all-conquering Irish duo Bicep, Novel Sound's Levon Vincent, globetrotting DJ Midland and record label Ostgut Ton founder Nick Höppner.

Krankbrother present New Year's Eve

Joy Orbison joins the celebrations at Village Underground accompanied by residents Krankbrother (pictured above), both playing on-point three-hour sets. Jon Rust will warm up the crowd, all in the name of seeing in the new year right.

Horse Meat Disco

Disco stalwarts Horse Meat Disco headline The Nest’s NYE party. Expect dancefloor fillers from classic to deep disco, punk funk, house, electric bangers and just plain old rare oddities at the Dalston basement.

NYE Spectacular

Jetsss (Radar Radio) makes a return to Birthdays, Dalston, for sister night's Fiesta and License To Trill's New Year's joint roadblock party alongside DJs Sweyn Jupiter and Complexion for a night of hip-hop, grime, bashment and garage.

Sunrise From the Loft – NYE After
