Preview: London Remixed Festival

The two-day eclectic indoor festival showcases the best global sounds from artists and DJs in Shoreditch

LOVE festivals, but hate mud? Then rejoice… the London Remixed Festival is back, bringing you some of the best new musical talent without the camping and dodgy Portaloos.

This year’s line-up includes 25 cutting-edge bands and DJs across four stages and two days, all from the relative safety of Rich Mix, in Shoreditch, from 3 to 4 February.

The festival is a celebration of the finest emerging musical talent from the best in Latin grooves, afrobeats, bass urban roots, brass band hip hop, Balkan beats, acoustic soundclash and more.

Aiming to create the perfect festival experience, expect indoor camping areas to chill out, an African market, fully converted disco lift to navigate between the stages and a silent disco cafe.

A 'Brass Off' hits the stage on Friday with band Bring Your Own Brass, delivering spine-tingling hip-hop, latin and tropical sounds as they face The Brass Funkeys, an eight-piece band who bring together some of London's most talented musicians for an eclectic show bursting with infectious energy.

A second night follows with a jam-packed line-up of live performances delivering a tropicarnival sound from the likes of 11-piece posse, Matuki and reggae/afro grooves act Me & My Friends.

Super-group AFRIQOUOI will be blending traditional African music with electronic sound on the final night. Others to watch out for include Scottish band The Elephant Sessions, and DJs Olly Wood and Chris Pedley showcasing their ‘Beating Heart’ project.

So get your dancing shoes on (wellies not necessary).
