Pop-up winter food market Hawker House opens in Haggerston

10 weekends of food, drink and music launched by Street Feast

THOSE who are dieting should look away now because Hawker House, the indoor market showcasing London’s finest street food, is back and descriptions of it alone are enough to make your stomach rumble.

Set within a new, 650 capacity venue on the Kingsland Road, Street Feast’s culinary temptations – and DJS – are laid out across three floors. On the first, the dieter’s self-discipline will be shaken by Yum Bun and the sweet, succulent smells wafting from lines of traders including Dogtown and Bleeker St Burger.

Make it to the second floor, and your willpower will be tested by the Hawker House canteen and the sizzling sounds coming from Hanoi Kitchen and Bob’s Lobster among others.

It is on the third floor, however, that your self-discipline shall be well and truly shattered: there are a number of bars to get stuck into including the Milk and Honey Mercury Lounge, a craft beer bar and a whisky bar.

Try your luck with a game of whiskey roulette, priced at £8, where you could win a bottle of scotch should the ball land on zero or end up getting a top quality liquor for a bargain basement price.

You’ll find Hawker House at 260-264 Kingsland Road, every Friday and Saturday night from 30 January until 4 April. Free entry from 5- 7pm, £4 thereafter. Just don’t say we didn’t warn you.
