Fireworks to return to Clissold Park
The theme for this year's display, on 7 November, is 'superheroes'
IS it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s the Hackney fireworks pyromusical spectacular.
The theme for this year’s stunning display, as chosen by residents, is 'superheroes'. Fireworks night is set to return to Clissold Park, in Stoke Newington, on 7 November, following last year’s flyaway success.
The display will be expertly choreographed to a mix of some classic superhero tracks, and residents are being urged to join in the capers and come dressed as their favourite comic book characters.
Who remembers the original Batman theme? Or perhaps something a bit darker like Thor? These tracks, and many more, will accompany the fireworks, choreographed by an award-winning pyrotechnics company.
Supermen, Wonder Women, Batmen, Cat Women – even Bananamen – are all welcome, so people are encouraged to come dressed to impress.
Funfair rides, themed entertainment and food and drink stalls complete the line-up for what will be a night to remember.
The Council is also looking for more supermen and women – this time as volunteers – to help host the event. People arebeing sought to meet and greet, marshall the audience and performance areas, or man information points, between 5pm and 8.30pm on the evening.
Volunteers will be offered two free tickets for family and friends in return for their time. To register your interest, contact Nick Thompson by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org; or call:020 8356 4309.
Gates open at 6pm and the display starts at 7.30pm. It is 20 minutes long and suitable for all ages. Entertainment willbe weather-dependent.
Standard tickets for the show cost £7.50 for adults and £2.50 for children who live in the borough; and £8.50 and £3.50 respectively for non-residents. They can be bought from Hackney Empire, at the box office, online, or by calling: 020 8985 2424.
