Acclaimed Israeli music and dance company Mayumana make their UK debut in Hackney

THE New York Times has called it ‘an indestructible global blockbuster’. And now, it is having its UK premiere at Hackney Empire.

‘Currents’ is the latest production from the internationally acclaimed Israeli dance company, Mayumana.

This time, they are taking audiences back to the 19th century, as Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla battle each other to bring electricity to the masses. Mayumana brings this historic feud to life using acrobatics, dance and percussion.

Expect vivid art projections, dazzling lighting effects, flamboyant costumes and original live music. It is, in short, electrifying.

'Currents' is on at the Hackney Empire from 18 April to 7 May. Tickets are priced from £10 to £35.
