Shop till you drop this Christmas in Hackney: Part 2

Reindeers, hand-crafted stocking fillers and a snow globe photo booth are just some of the fun, festive shopping experiences on offer in Hackney this Christmas time

Christmas at Hoxton Street Market

9am-4pm. Saturday, 13 December

This long-standing market offers plenty of gift ideas and all the fresh produce you need for a lovely Christmas dinner. Browse a selection of fresh produce and gifts while carol singers from local churches spread the festive cheer. There will also be a visit from Santa and his reindeers.
 

Christmas Market at Stour Space

10am-5pm. Saturday, 13 December

A seasonal market inside Stour Space in Hackney Wick offering locally made food, gifts and art. There are open studios by designer/makers and festive treats from the Counter Cafe.
 

Well Street Market Festival

11am-5pm. Saturday, 13 December

A festival to celebrate the Christmas season and encourage local enterprise. Residents and traders have hired stalls to sell a variety of goods. Plus there will be performances from local bands and Santa is due to make an appearance.
 

Dusty Fingers German Winter Wunderland

12noon-6pm. Saturday, 13 December

Dusty Fingers is going Deutsch this Christmas with a German-style market selling Boss Hog waffles, cider, flammeküchen (flame cake) and more. Over 45 specialist traders will offer a huge variety of vintage goods, plus there's a Santa's grotto, snow globe photo booth, and DJs spinning Xmas classics at the Round Chapel in Clapton.
 

African Christmas Market

12noon-6pm. Saturday, 13 December

There will be a wide selection of stalls featuring traditional African arts and crafts, fashion and books at the third annual African Christmas Market in Gillett Square, Dalston. The event is hosted by Open The Gate, Kaffa Coffee and Hackney Council.
 

Stoke Newington Indoor Market

11am-5pm. Saturday, 13 & Sunday, 14 December

Escape the elements at this indoor market in Stoke Newington Town Hall, which will play host to some of the best local retailers around. Perfect for gifts and last minute stocking-fillers. Enjoy mulled wine, minced pies and a visit to Santa's grotto.
 

The Village Green Christmas Market

12noon-6pm. Sunday, 14 December

For a stress-free Christmas, visit Hackney Downs Studios for unique handcrafted gifts and stocking-fillers including jewellery, cards, prints, homeware and some vintage items. Plus there's some tasty street food and live music.
 

Chatsworth Road Christmas Market

11am-4pm. Sunday 14 & 21 December

Find everything from handmade gifts and beautiful crafts to food from a range of specialist traders at Chatsworth Road Market.  Why not check out the surrounding cafes and stores while you're there too? More info.
 

Speaker's Christmas Market

11am-7pm,  Monday, 15 December

This annual event for all the family in Hackney Town Hall Assembly Rooms includes a variety of stalls, Santa's grotto and Christmas carols featuring Hackney school choirs. Fees from the stalls go to local charities The Sharp End, Alzheimer's Society and Laburnum Boat Club. 
 

Christmas Eve Market

9am-4pm, Wednesday, 24 December

For last minute shoppers, there are a range of stalls offering a wide variety of artisan foods and beautifully crafted gifts, made by local artists and designers at Broadway Market. Carol singers and musicians will provide a festive backdrop. There's also late night shopping on 10 and 17 December in the run up to the big day.
